Film Schedule

Scripting Process

SCRIPT ONE:

SCRIPT TWO:

Film Treatment for 'The Visitor'

Actors and Decisions

the three people we had in our first few scenes where the mother, the childminder and the child, the actors are as follows:

Mother: Louisa Campbell
Louisa is one of our team members mothers who also lives conviniently close to the school making it easy to shoot her scenes on weekends as the school is a good place for everyone to meet up out of hours to arrange to shoot our film. Shooting in Louisas house meant that as the person with the most appearances she could be made most comfortable in her own home and it would also be easy to reshoot scenes should we need to.

Childminder: Melissa Appiah
Melissa being a close friend of all team members was around alot whist we were all talking about themes of our production from the very beginning and demonstrated a keen intrest in helping us by taking part in our film. we scripted melissa as the childminder because she goes against the typical connotations of a peadofile i.e a young pretty woman. she also attends Graveney making it easy for us to get hold of her at lunchtimes and afterschool to shoot her scenes.

Child: Rhys Simms
Playing the child is Rhys Simms, a pupil attending our school and the brother of a team member. We decided to do this so that we could avoid using another young child who may have felt rather akward whilst filming not knowing any of the team very well at all. however Rhys, being the confident child that he is- made things alot easier for us to get on with.

Prop List

When thinking about what props would be used we reffered our storyboard and thought about everything included, the objects listed will be used in our film:
-Google maps print out
-tea light candle
-candle lighter
-glass (filled with "wine")
-pen
-sketchbook complete with images of child
-scissors
-glue
-pencil
-car

Location shots and decisions

Our final location decision is 146 Ribblesdale Road, this is because it is two roads away from school which makes re-shooting and changing shot decisions later on in the process a whole lot easier, also on the days that we had scheduled filming the house was free so the actors could get comfortable and have no worries about being in somebody elses home as we shot the mother scenes and the childminder/child scenes seperately for actor convinience.
It is also the home of our mother and actor who it would have been the hardest to relocate so shooting her in the comfort of her own house was alot easier to arrange.

Right to Left : Direct view of the house, Satellite view of the house both via Google Maps.
